My artwork heavily deals with the passage of time, different incarnations of the body over any given period, and how that personally impacts me as a woman of color. I'm particularly interested in recreating and reimagining the ancestral matrilinieal systems of Africa, which were rooted in the ideas of passing on wealth, knowledge and social cohesion, and honoring all members of the society in a more egalitarian way.
I take great pride in my art cricism and how it intersects with social justice. Also, I'm branching out into new artistic styles and mediums, along with a partnership with photographer and husband David Allen Harris.
